I've ventured out and decided to begin the Dr. Oz cleanse.
Day One of the cleanse and I think it went pretty good. No increase runs to the bathroom but I was a little more hungry than usual around the time or just before a regular meal. That could be normal though.
The food preparation wasn't too bad but as day two came along it was quite simple since I made everything the first day.
My energy level seems to be a little less than normal but then again I'm doing this with a new knee injury and have been needing to use more strength to get around...
The meals and snacks weren't too bad. For breakfast you have quinoa, prunes, flaxseed oil and nutmeg. Then for a snack you can have a green smoothie made up of kale, pineapple, cucumber, ginger and mint or other alternatives are listed if you don't have a juicer (I used my nutribullet). I'd have to say that I've had tastier green smoothies but I got it down, which kept me til lunch. For lunch I made a tasty fruit smoothie with banana, blueberries, almond milk and flaxseed. Dinner was actually pretty tasty - it was a veggie broth soup mixture which made my apartment smell wonderful.
Day Two: I had about half of the breakfast before heading out the door. When I got home, I went back to bed and didn't wake up until later that afternoon. So - I've kinda foopawed the cleanse, but I did go ahead and have the fruit smoothie - which I really enjoyed. For dinner I met with a friend out of town but all in all the cleanse wasn't too bad.
I'm not sure I would recommend the cleanse but then again, I didn't entirely follow it all the way either. I would have to say that I did notice my energy level was a lot lower than usual and would recommend it when you don't have to do anything extra.
